The Oxford First Responders is a FREE service to the Oxford community and surrounding area.  The First Responders provide care to the sick and injured patients in their time of need.   The First Responders are a caring volunteer group that respond to calls via a paging system to assist our community in any way we can. 

The Oxford First Responders consists of certified First Responders and certified EMT-Basics.  A variety of medical emergencies are encountered by First Responders on a daily basis, therefore First Responders are trained to provide basic care. With the First Responders having EMT-Basics on board, Oxford First Responders have the ability to perform advanced treatments such as Automatic External Defibrillation and Advanced Airway Maintenance. Our EMT's may also assist patients with medications that may be necessary in medical emergencies. The continuing education training that the Oxford First Responders attend, maintain our abilities to assist the Oxford community in their time of need. 

The duties and responsibilities of the Oxford First Responders include preparing the patient for transport, lifting assistance and CPR just to mention a few.

Some of the most common emergencies encountered by First Responders are:
      • Cardiac or Respiratory Arrest
      • Difficulty Breathing
      • Heart Problems
      • Chest Pain
      • Allergic Reactions
      • Motor Vehicle Accidents
      • Fractures and Dislocations

The First Responders are trained to deal with a variety of medical issues, which includes treating patients from the very young, to the very old. Every unique medical call receives rapid and effective emergency medical care.
